About Me

Katie zenger, MPH

I am currently a freelance consultant as well as a Senior Associate at The Weathers Group located in Columbia, South Carolina. I have over a decade of professional public health experience, and earned my Master's in Public Health from the Arnold School at USC in 2011. My expertise lies primarily in the areas of research, evaluation, and intervention management, as well as nonprofit leadership. I am also a skilled facilitator, strategic planner, and grant-writer.

I graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. From 2007-2009, I was the co-founder and co-director of Nashville Femme, a feminist non-profit organization that raised awareness and funds for women's health in Nashville, TN. In 2011, I received my Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis on Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of South Carolina. After completing my graduate studies, I was immediately hired at the New Morning Foundation, working my way up to a director-level position in under four years. As Director of Grants, Research & Evaluation at the Foundation, I provided oversight and strategic direction for all research and evaluation staff, including all grant-funded program efforts. During my time at New Morning Foundation, I earned the organization over 7 million dollars in grant funds, both private and federal.

After my time at the foundation, I worked with multiple prominent nonprofits as a project manager for grant-funded statewide public health projects. Though these projects, I was able to build a network of incredible partners and colleagues, who have supported me as I built Zenger Strategies. I am grateful to be here and cannot wait to help you with your goals.
